Watch the spot at different times
A bright room does not provide identical light in every corner. Notice where direct sunlight falls and how long it stays. Buildings, trees and the season can change the pattern. A few observations on different days are more useful than one glance at midday.
Check the plant’s needs
Use care guidance for the actual plant rather than treating all indoor plants alike. Match the plant to a suitable spot, or choose another plant if the spot is fixed. Do not assume a label such as low light means the plant can live without an adequate light source.
Consider more than the window
Heat sources, drafts and the practicalities of watering also matter. Keep the plant somewhere it can be cared for without damaging a surface or blocking access. Confirm species-specific safety if children or animals may encounter it.
Change one thing at a time
When adjusting a plant’s location, observe the response rather than moving it repeatedly in quick succession. Keep notes and consult reliable guidance for changes you do not understand. This helps distinguish an observation from a guess about what the plant needs.
